Keeping up with the Earth Friendly Products Brand...

Today we wanted to let you know that, although we currently have the entire New ECOS PRO line of Earth Friendly Cleaning Products installed and available for purchase, we have also recently received word that Earth Friendly Products will "yet again" be changing their product line and offerings to re-combine the residential and commercial sides back to how they were in the past.  As we understand it, Earth Friendly Products will be removing the recently added "ECOS PRO" branding, and expanding the product line available to ECOS Commercial Purchasers, to once again include much (if not all) of what is available to residential buyers... basically like it was before.   Thus, ECOS, or "Earth Friendly Products" as they are also known, will be once again combining the two product lines (ECOS residential line & ECOS PRO commercial line), and presumable shifting the "branding" of their entire product line from Earth Friendly Products (which we've also felt was a bit too long for a brand name) to ECOS.  Time will tell exactly what happens, but we wanted to let you know what to expect in the not-so-far future.  Happy Cleaning!

15 Great Uses for Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner

Hi there, this post relates to the many questions I've received over the years regarding Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaner.

AllPurposeCleanerQuart We offer Biokleen's Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner in a variety of Bulk Sizes. Click this image to visit the product listing page.

Wether it be purchased in 32 oz (Quart) 12 Packs), 4 Gallon Case Packs, 5 Gallon Pails or even in 55 Gallon Drums, the uses are all the same!  Biokleen's Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner is useful for virtually every cleaning situation as you will see in the list below.  Notably, there may be times when there are other options that might work better in some situations, such as when the stain you are trying to remove is oil or solvent based, but it never hurts to try Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaner first.  You can always follow up later with a stronger treatment such as Biokleen's Citrus Soy Solvent if the results are not stellar.   O.K., enough with my gabbing, following is the list of 15 great uses for Biokleen's Concentrated All Purpose Cleaner...

  1. Toilet Bowl Cleaner:  Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner will not remove rust stains, but it will remove everything else.
  2. Kitchen Cleaner:  Use Biokleen APC to clean all sorts of items in the kitchen, including counter tops, stove tops, dishes, coffee pots & tea kettles, etc.
  3. Counter Top Cleaner:  Use on any water safe counter top surface.
  4. Boat Wash:  Works great.  Just apply with a foamy brush or sponge, let sit for just a few minutes, then brush lather gently, and finally rinse the Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner off using a pressure washer or bush containing a water jet.  It is best to use when boat is on land and positioned above a gravelly substrate. Do not use while boat is in the water, as you never want to rinse any detergent directly into a body of water.
  5. Tub Cleaner: Use Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner as you would any tub cleaner, and you'll get great results!
  6. Vehicle Wash:  Apply and wash as usual.  Note: as when washing a boat with Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner, do not let soapy rinse water go directly down storm sewer.  This goes for any other soap or detergent rinse water.
  7. Carpet Cleaner:  Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner can be used to wash carpets, but is best used to spot treat individual spots or spills.  Dilute 1:10 with water.  Apply just enough to cover the spot or spill.  Agitate gently by brushing with a medium soft brush in a circular motion.  Blot.  Rinse.  Repeat.  Note: stains such as those from wine, berry juice or other colored spill often require much more advanced techniques, although it should not hurt to try first with Biokleen All Purpose cleaner.
  8. Wood Floor Cleaner:  Use Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner on any water safe surface.  Do not use this or any water based cleaner directly on raw, untreated wood.
  9. Dish Cleaner:  You can use Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner as a Dish Wash Liquid, however it may begin to dry out hands.  A better option would be Biokleen Hand Dish Soap.
  10. Hand Cleaner:  Again, as in number 9 above, Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner can certainly be used to clean hands, but best only as a temporary solution.  Instead try using Biokleen Hand Dish Soap or Earth Friendly Products Hand Soap, as these are both less likely to dry out your hands.
  11. Deck Wash:  Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaners is a great deck wash.  Just dilute as per bottle for washing floors, spray on, brush, then power wash off.  Again, please be sure run off will not flow directly to a water source.
  12. Concrete Cleaner:  Biokleen's APC also works great on concrete.  Add some stiff bristled brush agitation and you;ll achieve killer results.  Rinse down drain before allowing to dry.
  13. Tile & Grout Cleaner:  Use on tile just like on any other floor surface, but when it comes to grout, get a nice stiff bristled nylon brush and scrub the 1:10 diluted solution of Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner into the grout lines vigorously before rinsing to remove.  It's always nice to be able to clean surfaces on your own, without any special tools, but grout is one exception where it is extremely beneficial to secure the use of a hot water rotary extraction machine in order to rinse and flush the soils out of the grout lines, and because these surfaces are usually inside the home (unlike a garage), it may be best to obtain the assistance of a professional tile and grout cleaner for superior results.
  14. Garage Floor Cleaner:  Apply All Purpose Cleaner Diluted at 1:10 with water.  Brush with a pole brush or rotary brush (if you can obtain one).  Then power wash towards a drain.  If there is no drain present, extract with a wet dry vac and dispose of down a sanitary drain, or simply use a squeegee to push dirty biokleen solution out main overhead door.  Just be sure it will drain into gravel or sand, and not onto a hard surface where the Biokleen All Purpose Cleaner will run directly into a body of water or shallow well.
  15. Degreaser:  Last but not least, you can use Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaner as a very effective degreasing solution.  This is why it is so effective as a garage floor cleaner, tile & grout cleaner, a dish cleaner and a concrete cleaner, because all of these surfaces are subject to greasy residues.  In general, dilute 1:10 with water and apply as needed.  Agitate. Rinse. Repeat until grease stain is gone.  If the grease is too stubborn, please try Biokleen's Citrus Soy Solvent which is a very potent degreasing agent in RTU (Ready to Use) form.

As you can see, Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaner is great for many uses.  Often times you can consolidate 10 cleaners you may have lying around the house for just this one, making things much easier to manage.  If you can think of any other great uses for Biokleen's All Purpose Cleaner Concentrate, please feel free to post them here for other readers to see.   Thanks for reading!

How to Remove "Dried" Beer from Carpet Padding

Question:

[Customer]: I appreciated the "how to remove beer odor" instructions, but what about when the beer has penetrated deep into the carpet and the carpet is now dry? Soak it with bac out and blot ?

Answer:

Hi there [Customer],

Pour at least as much bac-out onto the carpet as the quantity of beer that spilled, and in the exact same spot so that it follows the same path that the beer did. Ideally, 50% more. Then let soak overnight, or until dry.

Be aware however that, if the moisture in the beer caused any damage, such as swelling of baseboards or subfloor, or leaking into ceiling below (if not on first floor), the bac-out will follow the same path, and could initiate more damage from it’s moisture as well. Although this is rarely a problem, it is something to be aware of.

If the odor still persists, but has subsided, feel free to apply second treatment once the first treatment is dry. You may want to do a fresh water rinse over the surface once all is complete and dry, as the bac-out may leave a little tacky residue on the surface of the fibers. It will not hurt the fibers, but it can attract soil over time and make the area appear soiled.

To rinse, run plain water (or add an ounce of vinegar per gallon to) a portable machine (if you have one), otherwise, simply spray water onto the surface with a trigger sprayer, and gently brush in a circular motion (no back and forth scrubbing) with a clean, white terry cloth towel. Use large circles going in the same direction, and then after doing this a few times you can switch direction. If it’s a berber carpet, you may have to simply blot the area, as they don’t take too well to brushing in a circular motion.

Good Luck!

Thank You.
Sincerely,
